Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for November 2, 2020
Horse by Horse News
- Blu Candy and Fire's Finale worked together yesterday morning at Belmont Park and both went well. “They went good and easy, you can see that in the video”, trainer Kelly Breen. Blu Candy is on track to make her debut well before the end of the year, perhaps even by the end of November. Fire’s Finale is heading for the Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes for Pa. bred 2 year olds at Parx on December 7th. After that we plan to send him down to Ocala for some richly deserved R&R. Timing should be perfect to have him ready for a big three year old season next year after a brief layoff. Here’s a video taken by Kelly of both horses training together

- Adhwaa runs Wednesday at Parx, a nice 7 horse field in what should be a good spot for her. Looking forward to seeing her run.
- Giuliana Vee runs Wednesday at Penn in a full 10 horse field. She drew a favorable post and fits well in this spot. Should be right there if she gets the right trip and runs as well as she did in her last start (a flying 2nd).
Remember, all entry info. can be found on www.equibase.com and at https://www.kenwoodracing.com/statistics/entries
- We are very pleased to announce that New Found Treasure has been sold privately to a wonderful new home. Longtime horsewoman Judy Cook picked her up Saturday at Penn and she arrived safely at her lovely farm in New Jersey and has settled in nicely (see attached photo). As with all horses under our care, we were committed to finding a safe and happy home for Treasure at the appropriate time. She won three races for us and was a lot of fun and now the time has come for her to have a second career off the track.
- Pango will be sent to Florida for turf racing there as soon as we can get a van for him. One or two races at Gulfstream Park, a little R&R afterwards in Ocala, and point for another successful season with Mark Salvaggio at Penn National next year
- Tracy Ann's Legacyis at Palm Meadows in Florida and will train there for the winter with Kelly Breen. We’re looking at various races for her later this month.
- Rapstorerocks fine out of a good 3rd at Penn National, beaten a nose for 2nd
- Itsgottabemyway well at Penn National. Will try her on dirt there with Mark Salvaggio and hope for a better race next time.
- Life On the Edge enjoying a well-deserved bit of R&R at Sunset Meadow farm. She had 2 wins and two seconds for us this year, earning nearly $50,000. A little turnout while the weather is still good and back in training before the end of the year.
- Seven Seven enjoying his R&R at Sunset Meadow farm also, all good. Here’s a bit of good news, his freshman sire, Laoban, is a sensation. Hopefully Seven Seven will add to his sire’s blossoming reputation next year!
- Lisa Limon and weanling by Liam’s Map both very well in Kentucky.

Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for October 30, 2020
Horse by Horse News
- Rapstorerocks far back in the early going, rallied strongly in the stretch to finish a good 3rd tonight at Penn National, beaten a nose for 2nd and just ahead of two other horses in a blanket finish. The winner was clearly best but he ran well in a large field despite being in tight when making his move, which clearly cost him 2nd money. We should be able to get one more start into him before he goes to the sale in December.
- Adhwaa was entered at two different tracks and the race went for her at Parx. She runs next week in a nice 7 horse field in what should be a good spot for her. Looking forward to seeing her run.
- Giuliana Vee runs next week at Penn National in a full 10 horse field. She drew a favorable post and fits well in this spot. Should be right there if she gets the right trip and runs as well as she did in last start (a flying 2nd).
Remember, all entry info. can be found on www.equibase.com and at https://www.kenwoodracing.com/statistics/entries
- Pango was going to be entered at Laurel Park in one of the last possible turf races of the year, but with heavy rain all week it will be off the turf so no reason to enter (even on the turf a heavy, wet grass course would not suit him).
- Tracy Ann's Legacy arrived safely at Palm Meadows training center in Florida yesterday afternoon and will train there for the winter with Kelly Breen. We’re looking at various races for her next month.
- Blu Candy good. Kelly plans to work her as soon as the rain clears up, probably this weekend. The brief time off at the farm really did her a world of good, she’s bred to be better as she matures and it looks like she’s making genuine progress. She’s on track to make her debut well before the end of the year, perhaps even by the end of November.
- Fire's Finale training well at Belmont Park for his final start of 2020, the Pa. Nursery Stakes, an $80,000 race restricted to Pa. bred 2 year olds at Parx on December 7th. After that we plan to send him down to Ocala for some richly deserved R&R. Timing should be perfect to have him ready for a big three year old season next year after a brief layoff.
- New Found Treasure has been sold privately to a wonderful new home
- Itsgottabemyway shipped to Penn National and arrived fine.

Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for October 28, 2020
General News
-
Enjoy this group photo from closing day at Monmouth Park, congratulations to all for an outstanding and successful meet for Kenwood!

-
Itsgottabemyway was 9th yesterday at Parx with no real excuse. Sat a good stalking trip and flattened out turning for home. Rider said she never was comfortable on the very soft, heavy, wet grass course. She shipped to Penn National and arrived fine. Will try her on dirt there with Mark Salvaggio and hope for a better race next time.
-
Giuliana Vee was entered today at Penn National and the race went with a full 10 horse field. She drew a favorable post and fits well in this spot. Seems to be sitting on a winning effort if she gets the right trip and runs as well as she did in last start (a flying 2nd).
-
Rapstorerocks runs Friday at Penn National. A large field but training strongly for this. We think he’ll like the shorter distance and hopefully run well here.
-
Highwaytwentyseven ended up with a win, 2 seconds and a 4th in 5 starts for us and was both fun and profitable for our very successful active racing group #58. Congratulations to trainer Kelly Breen and his crew and the entire Kenwood team for a job well done with this horse, who was claimed from us on the final day of the Monmouth 2020 meet as expected.
-
Pango was going to be entered at Laurel Park tomorrow. An ideal grass race, one of the last possible turf races of the year, but with heavy rain all week it will be off the turf so no reason to enter (even on the turf a heavy, wet grass course would not suit him). We are considering other options with him.
-
Adhwaa was entered for Friday at Belmont Park and the race did not go. It would have been back on just under 2 weeks rest, so there’s no rush and we’ll enter in the next available spot. There’s a possible race at Parx to enter in shortly. We expect a big race from her whenever she runs as well as she’s been training.
-
Tracy Ann's Legacy was entered at Laurel Park and for the 4th time, they did not use the race. It was the 8th time we’d entered her at multiple tracks looking to run her once more before she shipped to Palm Meadows but no luck. She’s on a van to Florida today and we’ll look for a race for her there next month instead.
-
Fire's Finale training well at Belmont Park. As you can see from the 2 attached photos, he’s happy and comfortable and doing great. He will train there for his final start of 2020, the Pa. Nursery Stakes, an $80,000 race restricted to Pa. bred 2 year olds going 7 furlongs, which should be an ideal distance for him. After that we plan to send him down to Ocala for some richly deserved R&R. Timing should be perfect to have him ready for a big three year old season next year after a brief layoff.
-
New Found Treasure will be sent to the sale in Maryland the first week of December, there’s also a good possibility she’ll be sold privately before the sale.
-
Blu Candy is training forwardly and will breeze at Belmont Park in the next few days. The brief time off at the farm really did her a world of good, she’s bred to be better as she matures and it looks like she’s making genuine progress. She’s on track to make her debut well before the end of the year, perhaps even by the end of November.
-
Life On the Edge enjoying a well-deserved bit of R&R at Sunset Meadow farm. She had 2 wins and two seconds for us this year, earning nearly $50,000. A little turnout while the weather is still good and back in training before the end of the year.
-
Seven Seven enjoying his R&R at Sunset Meadow farm also, all good. Here’s a bit of good news, his freshman sire, Laoban, is a sensation. Hopefully Seven Seven will add to his sire’s blossoming reputation next year!
-
Lisa Limon and weanling by Liam’s Map both very well in Kentucky.
Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for October 24, 2020
Horse by Horse News
- Highwaytwentyseven was a hard fought 4th today at Monmouth Park on closing day for the 2020 season. He got into a protracted early battle and tired late while trying every step of the way and was, as expected, claimed from us. While we’d have loved to go out with a win here we did really well with this horse all summer after claiming him early in the Monmouth meet. Overall he had a win, 2 seconds and a 4th in 5 starts for us and was both fun and profitable for our very successful active racing group #58. Congratulations to trainer Kelly Breen and his crew and the entire Kenwood Racing team for a job well done with our final runner at what has been an exceptional meet for us at Monmouth Park.
More good entry news, an action filled week ahead…
- Rapstorerocks was entered for next Friday at Penn National and the race went. A large field but training strongly for this. We think he’ll like the shorter distance and hopefully run well here
- Tracy Ann's Legacy has now been entered seven times for turf races at Monmouth Park and Laurel Park, none of which went. The race at Laurel has been brought back for the 3rd time as an extra, enter tomorrow for next week. If we can get her in that would be perfect as we could run her once more before she ships to Palm Meadows. If it doesn’t go tomorrow, we’ll probably have to ship out and look for a race in Florida next month instead. Fingers crossed!
- Itsgottabemyway runs at Parx Tuesday. There are 16 horses entered, only 10 can run so it’s fortunate she drew in this time, a little long overdue good luck for her. Won’t be easy but she’ll get a shot. There is a chance of rain and she’ll run on either turf or dirt, she’s ready. After the race she’ll ship to Penn National to train with Mark Salvaggio.
- Adhwaa shipped to Belmont Park with Blu Candy and is doing so well that we plan to enter her tomorrow for a race later this week at Belmont. It would be back on just under 2 weeks rest, so if the race doesn’t go there’s no rush and we’ll enter in the next available spot. We expect a big race from her whenever she runs as well as she’s been training.
- Fire's Finale shipped to Kelly’s barn at Belmont Park this morning and will train there for his final start of 2020, the Pa. Nursery Stakes. It’s an $80,000 stake restricted to Pa. bred 2 year olds going 7 furlongs, which should be an ideal distance for him. After that race we plan to send him down to Ocala for some richly deserved R&R. Timing should be perfect to have him ready for a big three year old season next year after a brief layoff.
- Giuliana Vee good out of her race at Penn National where she ran an excellent fast closing 2nd and will be entered this week at Penn for one of two races the first week of November.
- Pango doing well out of his 2nd impressive win in a row. There are 2 spots to enter him in at Laurel this week, hopefully he’ll get in one of them.
- New Found Treasure came home fine from her race at Presque Isle. We are hoping to get one more race on the grass for her before we send her to the sale in Maryland the first week of December.
- Blu Candy is training forwardly and will breeze at Belmont Park in the next few days. The brief time off at the farm really did her a world of good, she’s bred to be better as she matures and it looks like she’s making genuine progress. She’s on track to make her debut well before the end of the year, perhaps even by the end of November. Should work again shortly.
- Life On the Edge enjoying a well-deserved bit of R&R at Sunset Meadow farm. She had 2 wins and two seconds for us this year at Monmouth Park, earning nearly $50,000.
Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for October 22, 2020
Horse by Horse News
- New Found Treasure was 5th this evening at Presque Isle on Polytrack, beating exactly half of the 9 horse field. Far back in last for much of the race, she made a nice wide rally, got in a bit tight when making her move at the top of the stretch, but kept trying to end up beaten about 4 & ½ lengths for the win. She’s an honest filly who did fine on her first try on Polytrack.
Lots of exciting entry news, the weather gets cooler in the fall and the races fewer but for Kenwood Racing the action remains hot…
- Tracy Ann's Legacy was entered (after many previous entries at Monmouth Park) for Sunday at Laurel Park and that too did not go. Fortunately the race was brought back as an extra, enter tomorrow for next Thursday. If we can get her in next week that would be perfect as we could run her once more before she ships to Palm Meadows in Florida. Fingers crossed!
- Highwaytwentyseven runs Saturday, closing day at Monmouth Park. Our final runner for what has been a truly exceptional meet for us at Monmouth Park.
- Itsgottabemyway is in at Parx next Tuesday. There are 16 horses entered, only 10 can run so it’s fortunate she drew in this time, a little long overdue luck. Won’t be easy but she’ll get a shot. After the race she’ll ship to Penn National to train with trainer Mark Salvaggio.
- Rapstorerocks training very well, will be entered tomorrow for next Friday at Penn National, he’s ready.
- Pango doing well out of his 2nd impressive win in a row. Unfortunately turf racing is coming to an end in the northeast for the season but there are 2 spots to enter him in at Laurel Park next week, hopefully he’ll get in one of them.
A lot of the above horses are turf runners and as grass racing winds down in the entire region for the season opportunities become few and far between and almost every race becomes super-competitive and overfills. We’ve had exceptional success with turf horses this year (and in past years); Tracy Ann’s Legacy, Pango, New Found Treasure, Life On the Edge, etc. have won a ton of races and money for us on the grass, more than 50% of our wins and purses actually in 2020, but there’s no free lunch in the racing game and that’s the challenge with turf horses at this time of year.
- Blu Candy is training forwardly. The brief time off at the farm really did her a world of good, she’s bred to be better as she matures and it looks like she’s making genuine progress. She’s on track to make her debut well before the end of the year, perhaps even by the end of November. Should work again shortly.
- Adhwaa shipped to Belmont Park with Blu Candy and she too is training well there. Should be ready to run back in about 2 weeks.
- Fire's Finale training well as he heads for the Pa. Nursery Stakes at Parx Dec. 7th for his final start of the year.
- Giuliana Vee good out of her race at Penn National where she ran an excellent fast closing 2nd, coming from dead last in the early going with a huge stretch run to miss by less than a length in a very game effort. This is a nice filly and she’s run well for us all year long. There’s a couple of spots for her to run back in the first week of November.
Seven will add to his sire’s blossoming reputation next year!
- Lisa Limon and weanling by Liam’s Map both very well in Kentucky.
Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for October 21, 2020
General News
Closing day for the 2020 Monmouth Park meet is Saturday, our horses have started shipping out for New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida. If you didn’t see the list we sent Sunday please let us know and we’ll send you another copy
Horse by Horse News
Lots of exciting entry news, the weather gets cooler in the fall and the races fewer but for Kenwood Racing the action remains hot…
- New Found Treasure was scratched from her scheduled start at Laurel Park Sunday when it came off the grass, then was on the also eligible list for a race at Laurel this week needing several scratches to draw in, so we entered her at Presque Isle Downs and she got in. She’ll run tomorrow at Presque Isle on Polytrack. Hard to say how she’ll do on a new track-surface in a large, competitive field. Most turf horses run well on Polytrack, with no other good options for her it’s worth a try. She continues to train great.
- Highwaytwentyseven didn’t get to run in what would have been an ideal spot for him when racing was cancelled last week at Monmouth Park but he gets in for closing day (Oct. 24th) and will be our final starter of the year for what has been a truly exceptional meet for us at our home track. Hoping to go out on a high note for 2020 here.
- It had just not gone the right way for Itsgottabemyway. She’s been ready to run for weeks; we’ve been looking for a spot at Monmouth Park before the season ends and when that didn’t work out we entered her at multiple tracks and finally after (seriously) 9 entries at 3 different tracks, she got in at Parx next Tuesday. There are 16 horses entered, only 10 can run so it’s fortunate she drew in this time, a little long overdue luck. Won’t be easy but she’ll get a shot. After the race she’ll ship to Penn National to train with trainer Mark Salvaggio.
- Tracy Ann's Legacy was entered yet again (after many previous entries) for the final day of racing at Monmouth Park and once again the race did not go for her. Fortunately, there is a good spot to enter her in tomorrow for Sunday at Laurel Park, which would be perfect as we could run her once more before she ships to Palm Meadows in Florida next week. Fingers crossed!
Just to give newer owners a little education on entries, a lot of the above horses are turf runners and as grass racing winds down in the entire region for the season opportunities become few and far between and almost every race becomes super-competitive and overfills.
Workouts and shipping
- Blu Candy had a really nice work Sunday at Monmouth Park. She went head to head with a colt Kelly thinks has talent and kept right with him in a very quick time (see below). She shipped to Belmont Park Monday and trained there twice now with no issues. The brief time off at the farm really did her a world of good, she’s bred to be better as she matures and it looks like she’s making genuine progress. She’s on track to make her debut well before the end of the year, perhaps even by the end of November.

- Adhwaa excellent out of her Kenwood Racing debut at Monmouth Park. Rider said she tried every step of the way and felt perfect. This race should set her up nicely for a better spot next time. She shipped to Belmont Park with Blu Candy and trained there twice already with no issues. Kelly’s asst. John took the attached photo of her at Belmont Park this morning. Not the most flattering pose but you can see she arrived safely and is doing well.
- Fire's Finale has been nominated to the Pa. Nursery Stakes at Parx Dec. 7th for his final start of the year. It’s an $80,000 stake restricted to Pa. bred 2 year olds going 7 furlongs, which should be an ideal distance for him. Having broken his maiden on the same track and come out of the race really sharp and totally sound, we feel to quote trainer Kelly Breen it is “the perfect move”. He’ll ship to Belmont Park in the next couple of days. If another ideal spot comes up somewhere else we won’t rule that out, but our goal is the Pa. Nursery Stakes to end the season. Right after that race, we plan to send him down to Ocala for some richly deserved R&R. Timing should be perfect to have him ready for a big three year old season next year after a brief layoff.
- Rapstorerocks training very well, there’s a nice spot for him sprinting, enter Friday for next week at Penn National, he’s ready.
- Giuliana Vee good out of her race at Penn National where she ran an excellent fast closing 2nd, coming from dead last in the early going with a huge stretch run to miss by less than a length in a very game effort. Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for October 17, 2020
General News
We will have an initial list tomorrow (subject to change but probably pretty set) of where your horses will be shipping to when Monmouth Park closes and some important info. on your horses, please be sure to keep your eyes open for the email!
Horse by Horse News
- In racing news, this evening we had Giuliana Vee at Penn National as Kenwood Racing looked for our third win in a row after big wins with Fire’s Finale and Pango earlier this week. While she didn’t make it to the winner’s circle she ran an excellent fast closing 2nd, coming from dead last in the early going with a huge stretch run to miss by less than a length in a very game effort. This is a nice filly and she’s run well for us all year long.
- Adhwaa finally got in the entries at Monmouth Park and was a well-beaten 5th while making a decent effort off a long layoff. As explained, this was not the spot we were looking for to make her Kenwood debut. We entered in several maiden $40,000 events where off her good form and excellent works she’d have been the horse to beat and none of them went. This maiden allowance event came up especially tough for the level; the winner was 2nd in a maiden allowance race at Saratoga and the runner up was an Into Mischief filly that cost $600,000 as a yearling making her 2nd career start off a good debut, enough said. She’d have likely been favored in the race we were pointing for, here she was the fourth choice in this hyper-competitive spot and ran like it. All that said, it was a good opportunity to get her started, she tried hard and beat about half the field in a solid debut, rider said she tried every step of the way and felt perfect. This race should set her up nicely for a better spot next time.
- New Found Treasure runs Sunday at Laurel Park in a tough starter allowance event but only IF the race stays on the grass (they’ve had a lot of rain there recently and may not want to use the turf course even if it’s sunny). This is probably the last opportunity for her to run on grass this year; she’s training really well and has run really well (at much lower levels) all year, so we’ll let her take a shot knowing she may be a bit overmatched in this one. If it comes off turf, there might be a race to enter her in next week on closing day at Presque Isle Downs on Polytrack.
- Tracy Ann's Legacy was entered again today for next Wednesday and again the race did not go. One final shot at Monmouth Park, enter next Tuesday for closing day, Saturday 24th.
- Itsgottabemyway is ready to run, we’ve been looking for a spot at Monmouth Park before the season ends on October 24th for her also and there’s just nothing to enter in so she’ll have to ship to Penn National.
- Highwaytwentyseven didn’t get to run in what would have been an ideal spot for him when racing was cancelled Monday at Monmouth Park, but fortunately there are two good spots for him to enter in next week for closing day at Monmouth Park (Oct. 24th). If either one goes he’ll be in there.
- Great news with Fire's Finale. He came out so well out of his win this week that we are going to point him towards the Pa. He’ll train at Belmont Park with Kelly up to the race after Monmouth closes next week. If by chance another ideal spot came up before then somewhere that would be an option also, but the goal will be the Pa. Nursery Stakes to end the season. Right after that race, we plan to send him down to Ocala for some richly deserved R&R. Timing should be perfect to have him ready for a big three year old season next year without rushing him off the brief layoff.
- Rapstorerocks training very well, there’s a nice spot for him sprinting at the end of the month at Penn National.
- Pango was a little rough coming around out of his 2nd impressive win in a row at Penn National but is training really well again now. Trainer Mark Salvaggio has done an absolutely exceptional job with this horse. He looked terrible in several starts at Gulfstream after we claimed him and has turned into a really good turf runner and a money maker. Unfortunately turf racing is coming to an end in the northeast for the season but we might be able to get one more race into him at Laurel or Monmouth and then we’ll evaluate our options. A hearty congratulations to our active racing group #58, who has three terrific runners who are all racking up the wins; Pango, Tracy Ann’s Legacy and Highwaytwentyseven. All were claimed for bargain prices and all have paid off big-time for this highly successful, fun and profitable group.
- Blu Candy has come to hand quickly at Monmouth Park, had another nice work Saturday at Monmouth and is scheduled to work again this weekend. On track right now to run by December, perhaps at Penn National for winter or perhaps at Gulfstream Park.

Lots of exciting developments as another great month continues. The 2020 Monmouth Park meet comes to an end on October 24th and what a meet it was for Kenwood Racing runners! We will have an initial list this weekend (subject to change but probably pretty set) of where your horses will be shipping to when Monmouth closes.

- In racing news, this evening we had Giuliana Vee at Penn National as Kenwood Racing looked for our third win in a row after big wins with Fire’s Finale and Pango earlier this week. - Adhwaa finally gets in the entries tomorrow at Monmouth Park and we are excited to see her run. Unfortunately, this was not the spot we were looking for to make her Kenwood Racing debut. We entered in several maiden $40,000 events where off her good form and excellent works she’d have been the horse to beat and none of them went. This is a maiden allowance event and came up especially tough for the level to boot. There are a couple of horses in here who ran good 2nds in maiden allowance events at Saratoga, plus an Into Mischief filly that cost $600,000 as a yearling making her 2nd career start off a good debut, enough said. She’d have likely been favored in the race we were pointing for, here’s she’s the 6 to 1 fifth choice in the morning line in this hyper-competitive spot. All that said, she’s been training really well for this and been ready to run for 2+ weeks now, so with no other option at the moment it’s an opportunity to get her started. Hopefully she’ll have a solid debut, worst case it will set her up nicely for a better spot next time.
Another brief ‘educational moment’ here; as mentioned with Fire’s Finale’s big maiden win this week, there is significant financial value in what’s known in the business as ‘milking the condition’. In other words, you only get to face maidens until you win a single race. After that you face winners for the rest of your life. If the horse wins first time out you get one purse at the maiden level, if you get a few placings before the horse wins you end up with additional purse income before having to face tougher horses. With Fire’s finale we got almost $20,000 (and a ton of exciting races) in his five previous starts, in addition to the $33,600 purse from his win, putting us in a very solid financial position with a sound, talented colt bred to improve with age. That is NOT to make any excuses or say we wouldn’t be thrilled if Adhwaa won first time out for us, just that if she runs well and places a few times before breaking her maiden, it’s by no means a bad thing financially. From everything we’ve seen, she has ability and has done everything we could have hoped for to this point.

- Life On the Edge enjoying a well-deserved bit of R&R at the farm. She had 2 wins and two seconds for us this year, earning nearly $50,000. A little turnout while the weather is still good and back in training before the end of the year. Here’s a great little video clip our friend Bobby Bulger of Monmouth Park Park Memories took at Sunset Meadow Farm on Thursday.
- Seven Seven enjoying his R&R at Sunset Meadow farm also, all good. Here’s a great little video clip our friend Bobby Bulger of Monmouth Park Memories took of Seven Seven at Sunset Meadow Farm yesterday.
- Lisa Limon and weanling by Liam’s Map both very well in Kentucky

From everything we’ve seen, she has ability and has done everything we could have hoped for to this point.
- Giuliana Vee runs tomorrow at Penn National in a nice 7 horse field as she looks for her third career win and Kenwood looks for our third win in a row after big wins with Fire’s Finale and Pango. She’s trained well for this and has a real shot if she comes up with her best effort.
- New Found Treasure was entered yesterday for a race at Laurel Park and she did not get in, there were 16 horses entered and priority is given to horses stabled at the track. There was another race to enter in today and she did get in this time. She runs Sunday at Laurel Park in a tough starter allowance event. TO be honest, way over her head, something we rarely do, but there are limited options now for turf horses. This is probably the last opportunity for her to run on grass this year; she’s training really well and has run really well (at much lower levels) all year, so we’ll let her take a shot knowing she may be a bit overmatched in this one.
- Tracy Ann's Legacy will be entered again tomorrow for next Wednesday. Ready to run back and this race would be the perfect spot to give her one more shot at Monmouth Park before the season ends Oct. 24th.
- Itsgottabemyway is ready to run, just looking for a spot at Monmouth Park before the season ends on October 24th for her also. Nothing to enter in right now, we are trying to get them to put up an extra race.
- Rapstorerocks good, there’s a nice spot for him sprinting at the end of the month.
- Highwaytwentyseven didn’t get to run in what would have been an ideal spot for him when racing was cancelled Monday at Monmouth Park, looking for another spot before the meet ends Oct. 24th. Doing very well.
- Fire's Finale excellent out of his thrilling maiden win for a very nice purse at Parx. With one last surge right at the wire he put his nose in front to get the win by a short head in literally the final stride, with the 3rd horse a distant 10 lengths further behind. We bred and raised this horse, the final foal out of our beloved multiple stakes-winning mare Exchanging Fire (thus his name), who interestingly was stabled at Parx for much of her great career so it was fitting he broke his maiden here after 5 excellent runner-up efforts at other tracks (two 4ths, a 3rd and two seconds). This is a very promising colt, bred to improve as he matures, so there’s a lot to look forward to for all his owners. Not sure as to his next start, maybe one more and then a little R&R at a farm to have him fresh for his 3 year old year or may go to farm next week.
- Pango coming around out of his 2nd impressive win in a row at Penn National. Trainer Mark Salvaggio has done an absolutely exceptional job with this horse. He looked terrible in several starts at Gulfstream after we claimed him and has turned into a really good turf runner and a money maker. Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for October 12, 2020
Horse by Horse News
- Racing was cancelled at Monmouth Park so Highwaytwentyseven didn’t get to run in what would have been an ideal spot for him but Fire's Finale more than made up for that missed opportunity with a thrilling maiden win for a very nice purse at Parx. Sent off the heavy favorite in a scratch-filled field on a sloppy track, Fire broke perfectly from an outside post and sat a comfortable trip behind one runaway front runner. He made a bold move into contention on the far turn and then needed the entire length of the stretch to get past the leader, who was game after setting an uncontested early pace. With one last surge right at the wire he put his nose in front to get the win by a short head in literally the final stride, with the 3rd horse a distant 10 lengths further behind. It was a special moment for co-owners Bill & Pat Russell, who were on hand to celebrate with trainer Kelly Breen in person, and for everyone in the Kenwood Racing family. Recall we bred and raised this horse, the final foal out of our beloved multiple stakes-winning mare Exchanging Fire (thus his name), who interestingly was stabled at Parx for much of her great career so it was fitting he broke his maiden here today after 5 excellent runner-up efforts at other tracks (two 4ths, two 3rds and two seconds). We sold shares in this very promising Pa. bred as a two year old to our co-owner group at a value price and with his previous earnings of nearly $20,000 and his Pa. bred bonus purse of over $33,000 today, he has already earned more than his purchase price in just his two year old year. This is a very promising colt, bred to improve as he matures, so there’s a lot to look forward to for all his owners. Very few horses indeed make 6 starts at age two, a tribute to his maturity, soundness and of course good management by Kelly Breen and our entire team. This was Kenwood’s second win in a row (Pango won for us just three days ago) and 16th win of 2020. It’s been an exceptional year for us, especially welcome with all the challenges in the world for everyone right now, and this win will without question stand out as one of the highlights.
- Giuliana Vee runs Friday at Penn National in a nice 7 horse field as she looks for her third career win and Kenwood looks for our third win in a row after big wins with Fire’s Finale and Pango above. She’s trained well for this and has a real shot if she comes with her best effort
- Adhwaa had another fine work Saturday as we wait for a race for her. She was entered three times previously and the races did not go. We enter again tomorrow for Saturday at Monmouth Park and we are looking for other options elsewhere also.

- New Found Treasure well out of her race. Hoping to find another turf spot somewhere for her before grass racing ends in the region for the season. There’s a race to enter in Wednesday for Saturday at Laurel Park.
- Rapstorerocks good, there’s a nice spot for him sprinting at the end of the month.
