Hello Kenwood Racing Family,

After back-to-wins at Penn National with CALI HEAT and LISA’S PALACE to end March, Kenwood Racing is off to a quick start in 2025 compiling a running line of 13:3-2-3; good for a 23% Winning Percentage and nearly 62% ITM finish for our runners so far!  We are looking to keep that winning streak going with possible races for our ARC25 runners, ONE TIME WILLARD and CADET CORPS, next week! One Time Willard’s entry is today for next Thursday, while Cadet Corps has a possible entry tomorrow, for next Friday. Both runners had timed breezes last week in preparation for their next races, and please use the links below to see videos of their workouts:

OUTLAW COUNTRY, hasn’t missed a beat with his training since returning to Kelly’s barn earlier this year, and we are targeting his comeback race later this month, on April 27th, right at Gulfstream Park! OC has progressed to weekly breezes at this point in his training, and is on track to breeze 4-furlongs this Sunday at Palm Meadows on the turf course.  Please use the following link to see a video of his breeze this past Sunday at Palm Meadows - MOV icon Outlaw Country - PMM Breeze 03.30.25.MOV. Fingers crossed, but the team is very excited to get OC’s 5YO campaign underway, coming out of his first layup after 27 straight races over 25 months to start his racing career as a 2YO back in 2022! After eight wins and over a quarter million dollars in lifetime earnings, Outlaw Country looks ready to take another step forward this year!

RED HEAD ITALIAN is doing great back in training with trainer Brittany Russell at  Laurel Park, and will be in training over the next 7 weeks as we target the first NJ Bred Allowance of the year at Monmouth Park on Saturday, May 24th. RHI has come out of her 30-day R&R ready to get to work, and Brittany said RHI’s gallops have been strong, so she going to have her on a 10-day breeze schedule heading into that race. She had her first real breeze back this morning, stopping the clock in 37.1 seconds for the 3-furlong dirt breeze which was the bullet breeze on the day, at that distance.  The Equibase Workout Notification is included below.

Finally, our unnamed, 2YO homebred filly by Connect is doing well down at Whispering Meadows Equestrian in Delaware, and has recently completed her Delaware Certification to be eligible for restricted races and increased purses right a Delaware Park; a track we often look to ship into, given it’s close proximity to Monmouth Park! She is going to remain in Delaware for the breaking and training process the rest of this Spring into early Summer, and the goal is to have her ready to head to a race track by the middle part of the Summer, which will be the final step in her training and preparation towards a 2YO debut later this year! There is still quite a bit of “learning” to do once she does get to the race track, but she is a smart girl and has handled everything like a professional so far, and we are just excited to see her continue to progress!

Last piece of news to share is just a reminder about our first OWNER FOR A DAY event of the 2025 season, scheduled for Saturday June 14th at Monmouth Park for Haskell Preview Day! Limited to a small group, we provide a light breakfast while watching horses train in the early morning hours, before heading to the backside to visit with our horses for pictures, carrots and a behind-the-scenes look at everything that goes into caring for these equine athletes on a daily basis! After training, we’ve reserved one of the new Winner’s Circle Suites where we’ll provide food and non-alcoholic drinks while enjoying the races from one of the best seats in the house! We’ll take a pre-race visit to the paddock, talking handicapping and answer any and all questions you may have about this great game! If you’ve been following Kenwood Racing for years, but have been hesitant to get involved, this is the event for you!
