  • We’re pleased to announce the addition of two promising horses to the stable. Tracy Ann's Legacy and Highwaytwentyseven were both claimed Sunday afternoon at Monmouth Park. Highwaytwentyseven, a three year old gelding who runs short on the dirt, ran decently when third as the favorite, a neck behind the 2nd horse in a photo after chasing the early pace of the winner (“dug in and lost 2nd at the wire” – official chart). Meanwhile Tracy Ann’s Legacy, a four year old grass filly, went to the lead and never looked back, winning by nearly 5 lengths in a very fast time (“responded when roused and kicked away” – official chart). Her winning time, by far the fastest of the day for the distance, was less than 1 second off the time the male star Archidust posted when winning Saturday’s Wolf Hill Stakes at Monmouth Park on Haskell Day (“Archidust ran 5 1/2 furlongs on turf in 1:01.26 and earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 95” - DRF).

Both horses look like solid claims and we look forward to them making their debuts for us next month at Monmouth.

  • Seven Seven had another excellent work today and video. He’ll either make his debut at Saratoga or at Monmouth, depending on what comes up first.

Four entries scheduled for this week at Penn National after a busy weekend at Monmouth…

  • No Good Deed in Wednesday at Penn National. Drew the absolute worst possible #1 post, other than that doing super so if she can work out a decent a trip from there expecting a big race from her.
  • A wonderful, heartwarming story behind recent winner Giuliana Vee which you can read here. She’s entered for Wednesday at Penn National and on the also eligible list; #12, only 10 can run, so unless at least 2 horses scratch by Wed. morning she will NOT run. If she does get in she’ll have the best post and a great shot to run well if she can handle coming back on short rest.
  • Rapstorerocks in Friday at Penn National, an excellent spot. Right level and distance as he shoots for two wins in a row.
  • New Found Treasure also in Friday at Penn National, comes out of an excellent 2nd and should run well again here in a full, competitive field. Ran hard and well despite coming back a bit quick on just 10 days rest last time, here she has a little more time off between races and a better post
  • Fire's Finale good and happy after his arrival at Monmouth Park, no issues (see photo & brief video). Looking for a spot for him at Monmouth Park or Parx.
  • Pango doing well and will be entered Friday for a grass race next week at Penn.
  • Life On the Edge good out of her excellent 2nd Haskell day at Monmouth Park. She’s a nice honest filly and is ready for the winner’s circle with a decent draw – trip next time.
  • Our Candy Ride – Tiz Blu filly (name submitted today) for new group #59 has settled in nicely since arriving at Monmouth Park.

We’re certainly off to a fine start for the second half of the year overall, with two seconds and two wins in July so far. We are expecting this to be a really good summer and fall for Kenwood runners.

  • Lisa Limon and her Liam’s Map foal well at Hidden Brook Farm in Ky. Hard to find a better looking horse
