• Hard to keep up with all the good news with Lisa Limon. Yesterday, there were two different positive developments. First, her half-brother Snow Man won an allowance race at Zia Park by 8 & ¾ lengths, going away in a cakewalk and doubling his lifetime earnings (see chart). He’s already stakes placed (2nd by a neck in his 2nd career start) and appears to be stakes quality. This is a very important boost to Lisa Limon’s own pedigree, aside from all the good news with the red hot sire she’s in foal to, Liam’s Map. Also yesterday, a Liam’s Map colt was the sales topper at the OBS Select yearling sale, bringing $230,000 (Liam’s Map colt tops Selected Yearling Sale). Several Liam’s Map’s sold for a lot more than this at Keeneland last month and this isn’t a surprising price for a sire as hot as he is now, but the OBS sale commands far lower averages than Keeneland and for a Liam’s Map to be the sales topper here is just another sign of how in demand he is. Easy to see why, as last weekend Liam’s Map’s daughter Wicked Whisper won the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park, going away and trainer Steve Asmussen reports she is being pointed for the Breeder’s Cup at the beginning of November (conveniently right before Lisa is scheduled to sell at Keeneland). Coupled with Basin’s win in the Grade 1 Hopeful at Saratoga last month, Liam’s Map now has two grade one winners, the most of any freshman sire this year and a very rare feat indeed. Lisa Limon, an allowance winning filly by Scat Daddy from a young and attractive female family in foal to Liam’s Map on one early cover (breeding) should be a filly in great demand at Keeneland next month. Congratulations to all her owners!

  • New Found Treasure, Life On the Edge and Magic Musketier were all entered today for races at three different tracks and none of them went, but all three were carried over. There is a grass race at the Meadowlands for New Found Treasure enter Sunday for Friday, two different allowance races at Laurel Park for Life on the Edge, enter tomorrow for Sunday, and a dirt race at Fresno for Magic Musketier enter tomorrow for Sunday. Hoping we have some better news to report on the entry front tomorrow afternoon.

  • No Good Deed has a van lined up (finally, took a while!) and is scheduled to ship into trainer Ron Spatz at Gulfstream Park tomorrow to continue her training there.

  • Rapstorerocks seems better after he spiked a high fever a couple of days ago. No fever but he’s still not eating everything. He walked today and seems ok. He is supposed to be entered Thursday for Sunday at Laurel Park and trainer Kelly Breen plans to monitor him closely. If there’s any question we’ll pass and wait for the next spot.

  • Shake It Up Baby training at T-Square Stud and doing super. Adam Parker thinks he’s about two weeks away from an easy timed work, maybe a 2 minute lick or an easy 2 furlong timed breeze. At that point, assuming he comes out of it well, he’ll be ready to ship to Gulfstream Park to continue his training there.
