• New Found Treasure sat a good trip, close up in a nice stalking spot under Nik Juarez and plain didn’t fire at Monmouth Park on Saturday, finishing 5th. Not to make excuses but she was stung by a wasp on the face early this morning and almost didn’t run. The swelling went down and she was cleared to run by both Kelly and the state vet, but it’s not impossible that took a little out of her, or that she simply didn’t have enough kick when asked. There’s a race for her in about three weeks at the Meadowlands we’ll point for that should be a good spot.
  • ShimmyShimmy Shake runs tomorrow (Sunday) at Monmouth Park. The race flow appears to set up a lot better for her here than in any of her previous starts for us. A good break, a clean trip, and a top effort will produce a much better result than she’s shown thus far. Been training really well for this too.
  • Life On the Edge will run in an allowance at Parx with an enhanced $80,000 purse on Monday. While we’d have liked to run at Monmouth Sunday in the stake, it really was a no-brainer to run at a better distance, for more money, against a smaller field, and be able to get top rider Paco Lopez (who rode her so impressively in her maiden win) on her again. For this money certainly not an easy spot but we are expecting a big effort from her if she can handle the tricky Parx surface, which is sometimes a challenge for horses the first time over the track. Please let us know if you plan to attend this any – all of the above races and wish help with seating arrangements. Admission is free now at Monmouth for Sept. and always free at Parx.

All entry info. is here as usual .  A reminder that ALL entries (and planned workouts too!) are subject to change for many reasons, NO horse is “going to run” until the gate opens, and NOBODY knows “what race, what time, what post”, etc. until after the entries come out.
