Kenwood Racing claimed the 3 year old filly Huamantla at Monmouth Park for Kenwood & group #21 on July 3rd. She ran well, a good 3^rd after pressing the early pace, came back perfect and we expected she'd be a nice addition to our stable. On July 25th, she made her Kenwood debut at Monmouth and won a thriller. Perfectly placed by jockey Joe Bravo in 4th in the early going just off the early speed, she commenced a rally on the far turn and wore down the leaders in the final strides to win by a neck, despite Joe dropping his whip at the 1/8th pole. A large crowd of partners and co-owners were on hand to celebrate in the winner's circle on a big day for Kenwood and group #21, our active racing group who has another nice winner! Previously, Selma Gayle won three races in a row for group #21, and we are hoping this nice filly follows in her footsteps! We are glad to have added Huamantla to our barn and look forward to her next races for us.
