Taking advantage of an opportunity to privately purchase an interest in a lightly raced California bred runner at an attractive price, Kenwood Racing announced the purchase of the cleverly named Starring John Wain (Kafwain - Star Vesta) on Feb. 18th. The 3 year old Cal bred colt was bred by hall of fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and has finished in the money in each of his last four starts, with his most recent effort coming just days ago when 3rd in a maiden special weight race at Santa Anita.  Starring John Wain will be co-owned with Jerry Hollendorfer and George Todaro and trained by Jerry in Southern California. 

"This was a nice opportunity to acquire a young, sound California bred three year old with all his conditions, coming off a good effort at Santa Anita", explained Kenwood founder & racing manager H. Robb Levinsky. We're looking forward to his debut for us next month.
