Another big weekend ahead! We had three entries today at Monmouth Park for next Monday (Labor Day) and by good fortune, all three went….
- Fire's Finale has been doing so well out of a hard-trying 4th (beaten a nose for 3rd) at Laurel Park last week that we entered him today on short rest at Monmouth and the race went with a nice 7 horse field. A bit shorter distance than he wants but the right level. If he can handle the short turnaround will be very competitive in here.
- Highwaytwentyseven doing very well, has a win and a second in two starts for us, both at significantly higher levels than we claimed him for. We entered in an extra today and it went with a nice 6 horse field. It’s another step up the ladder, will be a challenge for him, but he’s merits a shot at this level based on his last two races.
- Itsgottabemyway gets in an overflow field (as usual on the turf) of 13 horses. The level and distance and post are all fine. Races like this usually come down to who gets the best trip. She’s trained really well for this and is ready for her Kenwood debut.
We have seating for all our owners at Monmouth Park. It’s been a very exciting summer, with every horse running well in every start. We welcome and encourage owners to come out and watch your horses run. Remember by state law no owners have access to the paddock and winner’s circle this year but as anyone who has attended the races this season will tell you, it’s been a great experience celebrating all the wins together nonetheless. Please email George@kenwoodracing.com if you have any questions regarding seating, admissions, etc.
- New Found Treasure was entered at Penn National. The race went and this time she got in, runs Sept. 9th. The usual full field and a highly competitive group but she’s doing really well. Ready for another good effort in a similar spot to where she’s been 3rd, 1st and 2nd in her last 3 starts.
- Blu Candy is ready to return from a very brief stay at the Sunset Meadow Farm, will ship into Monmouth Park shortly to resume training. Jeanne Vuyosevich at Sunset Meadow Farm sent along these great photos. This lovely filly is obviously the picture of health and clearly is enjoying her brief bit of R&R. Will be nice to have her back at Monmouth Park.
We have three entries coming up next week at Penn National, all of these horses have been running great and are doing really well….
- Rapstorerocks very sharp. There’s a grass race for him to enter in next week.
- Pango well and will be entered next week at Penn. Comes off a flying 2nd, beaten a head for the win.
- Giuliana Vee comes off 2 wins and a photo finish 2nd in her last three starts and will be entered next week at Penn National. Here’s a photo trainer Mark Salvaggio took of her looking out of her stall this morning
Other runners…
- Adhwaa well out of her first timed work at Monmouth Park and will work again this weekend.
- Seven Seven excellent off a very solid 3rd at Saratoga. Pointing for one of two races at Monmouth Park in September.
- No Good Deed is back at Penn National and being evaluated by our vet team. Walked fine yesterday and this morning.
Kenwood Racing on the leading owners list at Monmouth Park for the entire meet! 4 wins and 5 seconds from nine starts. Not a single horse worse than 2nd for two months of racing at Monmouth, along with Kelly Breen at the top of the leading trainers list in no small part due to his fantastic work with Kenwood runners. We hope to add to these totals before the main meet ends September 27th, and to continue our success during the ‘Meadowlands at Monmouth’ meet in October!
It was another amazing day at Monmouth Park last Saturday. Great to see so many co-owners coming out to the track and seeing everyone excited. Take a look at video links to races for Tracy Ann’s Legacy and Life On the Edge just below. The Tracy Ann’s Legacy video is awesome because you can hear Jose Ferrer's wife, Steffi and their two kids screaming and cheering.
- Life on the Edge is our leading runner at Monmouth Park with 2 wins and 2 seconds in her 4 starts this season at our home base, earning about $40,000 and running great every time. What a nice filly! Congratulations to our historic group #50, this filly has lived up to her billing throughout her fine career and hopefully the best is yet to come. Look for her to try to add to her totals this month at Monmouth Park.

- Tracy Ann’s Legacy excellent out of a blowout win at Monmouth Park, went right to the front in a speed laden race and never looked back, widening with every step to win by seven lengths under a great ride by Jose Ferrer for his 4500th career win. You may recall when Life On the Edge won by a nose a couple of weeks ago it was trainer Kelly Breen’s 800th career win, so we’ve had the pleasure of celebrating some real milestones with great people. As for Tracy Ann, she’s actually a better turf horse but she is lightening quick and clearly can run on the dirt too. This filly was claimed for just $22,000 last month on July 19th and less than 6 weeks later has a win and a 2nd in two allowance events and has earned $40,000 for our active racing group. We are looking at spots for her later this month or early in October at Monmouth Park.
