General News

  • Our online seminar, Buying Horses at Auction will be held next Thursday June 18th at 7:30pm. This will be a comprehensive introduction to the sales process, with specific facts and figures and NO sales pitches. If you want to know the difference between buying broodmares, weanlings, yearlings, two-year-olds, etc., what horses cost and what paying top $ really buys you, what the experts look for at a sale, the importance of movement, pedigree, conformation, etc., how the process really works, and separate hype from reality, this seminar is for you. ALL welcome but space is limited and priority will be given to current co-owners (we’ve already received a large number of responses in just the first few hours, thank you!).
  • Good news! Racing is expected to return to Parx June 22nd & Penn National June 19th, with an initial schedule of 3 days a week at Parx and 2 days a week at Penn. All our horses are ready to run as soon as find races for them
  • An Open Letter to the Industry continues to receive a great deal of attention and will be appearing in more publications shortly

  • Giuliana Vee was 5th today at Laurel Park; got a favorable outside post in a 9 horse field and despite acting up in the gate a bit broke sharply and got a dream trip, sitting a close up 3rd under a fine ride by Sheldon Russell. Made a move for the lead turning for home and then tired noticeably in the stretch. She’d been off several months and unable to train much at Penn while no racing, so we had anticipated she might have needed this one and she clearly did. The race should clearly have her fit and ready for her next start and we expect a big effort next time at Penn in a few weeks.
  • Seven Seven and Life on the Edge came out of their 3 furlong works this week at Monmouth Park very well. Looking for a race for Life on the Edge at Laurel Park ASAP (we entered yesterday and the race got 17 entries for 12 slots and we didn’t get in), while Seven Seven is making steady progress towards his debut and is scheduled to work another 3/8 next Monday or Tuesday.
  • Rapstorerocks had a nice maintenance work at Penn National and is ready to run as soon as we can find a race for him.
  • New Found Treasure well and scheduled to run at Penn National opening day, June 19th, assuming they run and the race goes and she gets in.
  • No Good Deed had an easy maintenance work yesterday at Penn National; doing well and ready to run.
  • Pango well at Gulfstream Park, looking for a spot for him.
  • Fire’s Finale also well at Gulfstream Park, about 3-4 weeks from his debut if all keeps going well.
  • Lisa Limon and her handsome Liam’s Map foal, both doing excellent at Hidden Brook Farm.
