Lots of exciting new entries! Here’s the place for the details.
- Life on the Edge was an excellent, fast closing 2nd today on Haskell day at Monmouth Park. Not to make excuses but the rail cost her the win here when beaten just 1&1/2 lengths while far ahead of the rest of the field, just as it did last time at Delaware Park when she also drew the rail and was 4th, beaten 2 lengths for the win. The rail is generally the worst draw for almost any horse, even more so for her as she runs best when in the clear. Trevor McCarthy sat a patient stalking trip and finally found room at the top of the stretch, once he swung her out and in the clear she came flying and just ran out of room at a distance a bit short for her. She’s a nice honest filly and is ready for the winner’s circle with a decent draw – trip next time.
- Rapstorerocks gets in next Friday at Penn National in an excellent spot. Right level and distance as he shoots for two wins in a row.
- New Found Treasure also in next Friday at Penn National, comes out of an excellent 2nd at Penn last time and should run well again here in a full, competitive field. Ran hard and well despite coming back a bit quick on just 10 days rest last time, here she has a little more time off between races and a better post.
- No Good Deed good out of an excellent work and gets in the entries next Wednesday at Penn National. Drew the absolute worst possible #1 post, other than that doing super so if she can work out a decent a trip from there expecting a big race from her.
- Giuliana Vee doing so well we entered her for next Wednesday at Penn National and the race went, BUT she’s on the also eligible, #12, only 10 can run, so unless at least 2 horses scratch by next Wed. morning she will NOT run (if you email us and say “I saw Giuliana Vee was running but now I don’t see her in the race” we will refer you to this email). If she does get in she’ll have the best post and a great shot to run well if she can handle coming back on short rest off her win.
- Fire’s Finale arrived safely at Monmouth Park this morning, no issues. He’s with Kelly Breen and will be pointed to races at Monmouth and Parx – Penn (where he receives bonus purse monies as a Pa. Bred). He’s coming out of a fine debut at Gulfstream when a good 3rd. Off this nice effort we are looking forward to an exciting career with him this summer and beyond.
- Seven Seven good after a very nice breeze from the gate at Monmouth Park, as he approaches his debut. It was another fast time which will make the owners (and us) happy, but what makes us more pleased is the way he did it; under wraps, easily keeping up with the older horse he worked with. He’s close to his debut now. Maybe one or two more works and run if all keeps going well.

- Our Candy Ride – Tiz Blu filly (name coming shortly) for new group #59 has settled in nicely since arriving at Monmouth Park and had her first timed work from the gate today (below). It was one of the fastest works of the day-distance but honestly any horse can work in 37 seconds. What matters to us is she went well and is moving in the right direction.

- Pango ok out of his raceat Penn National, looking for a turnaround next time after several sub-par efforts.
We’re certainly off to a fine start for the second half of the year overall, with two seconds and two wins in July so far. We are expecting this to be a really good summer and fall for Kenwood runners.
- Lisa Limon and her Liam’s Map foal well at Hidden Brook Farm in Ky. Hard to find a better looking horse
