• Shake It Up Baby plain failed to fire at any point in the race today at Monmouth PArk, finishing a dull 6th. Unlike Life On the Edge who showed a ton of speed and stopped with a big excuse, he showed nothing. Came into the race looking and doing absolutely great, showing a ton of speed and ability from the get go in all his works, so an obvious disappointment. Some horses need a race or two to show their best, one race is no reason to panic but that said, if he doesn’t run much better next time then we have cause for concern. Trainer Kelly Breen said after the race “this horse simply shows too much ability not to be a nice horse”, let’s hope he’s right.
  • Also today we welcomed New Found Treasure to the stable, claimed today at Monmouth Park for Kenwood and group #54. Didn’t run great but most important, came out of the race totally fine so far.  With the Red Rocks (IRE) colt in group #54 doing super, should be a lot of fun this summer
  • More Ice gets post #7 in a full 12 horse field in the Oceanside Stakes opening day, next Wednesday at Del Mar. While a big field and of course a tough group, he has two wins at Del Mar and has trained very well for this. As ready as we can get him!  All owners wishing to attend please let us know if you want assistance with admissions-seating.
  • MORNING TRAINING NEXT TUESDAY!  Please join us for morning training next Tuesday at Monmouth Park, your opportunity to see your horses train, take photos, meet your trainer and riders, etc. As of now (always subject to change!) several horses are scheduled to work including Start A Fire, Solar, and our two new two year olds, Red Rocks colt and Overanalyze filly. Others will gallop, all weather permitting. Please email us for meeting details if you’d like to attend, space limited!
  • Exchanging Ember returned to training and looks great, here’s a nice photo of her on the track this morning at Penn National

  • Our three two year olds in groups #53 & #54 Red Rocks (IRE) colt, Soldat filly, Overanalyze filly all well.  The Red Rocks colt and Overanalyze filly are making very rapid progress and are scheduled to work next Tuesday again at Monmouth. Real values here for our final groups of 2019! Here is a video of the Red Rocks (IRE) colt and Overanalyze filly working from the gate this morning.
