- Life on the Edge continued our amazing run of good results when she won today by the slimmest possible nostril today in the 6th at Monmouth Park in a thriller. Perfectly placed in 4th on the outside off a fast pace by leading rider Paco Lopez, she made a sustained move on the far turn to take over the lead and opened up several lengths at the top of the stretch, but it was not over as she began to tire in the final yards. Paco asked her for everything she had and it was (barely!) enough as she held on by the slimmest possible nose at the wire. She returned on 2 weeks rest and was incredibly game at a distance a bit beyond her liking. When things are going well you get the breaks; she got a great ride, a good staking trip, and the head bob went our way tonight.

- We are pleased to welcome a new horse to the barn as we claimed the cleverly named Itsgottabemyway today at Monmouth Park. She was very impressive; sat off the pace in the early going, made a sustained four wide move on the far turn, and won going away. Running well is not as important as people think, what matters more is how they come back, but that said she galloped back to the winner’s circle full of run and cooled out perfectly back at our barn. She was 4th choice in the race, not obviously the best of this field, so to see her win this impressively is certainly a positive sign. Never any guarantees with any horse but for less than $2,000 everyone in our oversold new group #61 has reason to be very pleased at this juncture. A special welcome to several new co-owners who joined the Kenwood Racing family today, we appreciate all of our owner’s support.
- Pango doing well out of his last start is on the Also Eligible list in an overflow field for next Friday at Penn National, will need one scratch by race day to get in, will look at alternate races for him in the meantime.
- Giuliana Vee good out of a very game 2nd following a fine debut win at Penn National. She too is on the Also Eligible list in an overflow field for next Friday at Penn National, will need one scratch by race day to get in. Will look at alternate races for her too.
Not a good luck of the draw in either of these races but in fairness we’ve had more than our share of good entries this summer and there’s a very decent chance a horse will scratch out of each of these races for one reason or another and we’ll get to run. If not we’ll just have to find alternate spots, stay tuned.
- A surprise entry (sort of!) for Highwaytwentyseven at Monmouth Park this Sunday. He is entered main track only (MTO) for a grass race Sunday coming back on 1 week rest. Trainer Kelly made the entry at the last minute yesterday because the horse came out his race perfect and if it was rained off the grass would be an incredibly weak group compared to what he’d face otherwise. Worth the risk of a bounce which could absolutely happen. When the owner insists a trainer run a horse back too quick it’s a recipe for disaster, when the trainer sees the horse doing well and takes a shot because it’s a great scenario, it’s worth a try (even when it doesn’t work ). Weather calling for 50% chance of showers Sunday so not impossible but unless you read otherwise Sunday morning he is NOT running
- Seven Seven came out of his career debut so well that we kept him at Saratoga and are pointing him to a race at the end of next week. He will be entered this Sunday for next Friday. His debut was good, a lot better than most people probably realize. He made a huge move on the far turn to get alongside the 2 leaders, and then the horse next to him bore out badly, sending him 4 wide and causing him to lose all momentum and he finished 5th “strung out 4 wide on the turn” according to the official chart. If the race goes, with a better trip and the debut experience, as well as he’s training we’d anticipate a big step forward.
- Fire's Finale came out of his closing 2nd in his first start at Monmouth Park excellent and there’s an ideal spot for him too at the end of next week at the longer distance he’s bred for. Will be entered next Thursday for next Sunday at Monmouth Park and we sure hope the race goes.
- Rapstorerocks training great, will be entered in one of two spots next week at Penn National looking for his 3rd win in a row. Had a nice easy maintenance work today;

- New Found Treasure fine out of a good 3rd Wednesday at Penn National. Had a good trip and a good ride, just beaten to the wire while running well and hitting the board once again. She’s been 3rd, 1st and 2nd in her last three starts.
- No Good Deed ok out of a rough trip last time when 4th at Penn National, looks like end of August for her next start.
- Tracy Ann’s Legacy good out of her excellent, hard-trying 2nd, picking up $10,000 in purse $ in a tough allowance race last week at Monmouth Park. This race comes back in the book at the end of August and while no guarantee it will go, if it does the timing would be excellent to run back in there and hopefully it will stay on the turf. This is a very nice filly and looks like an excellent claim for our active racing group #58, should be lots of good times ahead with her.
- Adhwaa training well at Monmouth Park, no issues.
- Blu Candy well at the farm. Expect her to return to training at Monmouth Park in September. We are not rushing her as she’s bred to mature into a nice filly.
- Lisa Limon and her Liam’s Map foal well at Hidden Brook Farm in Ky. Hard to find a better looking horse. Congratulations to Lisa’s brother Snow Man, who won the Duke City Sprint Stakes off a 8 month layoff! Our Liam’s Map – Lisa Limon foal should be a very popular commodity when we sell him as a yearling next year.
